注射器400 和注射器500是非常精确的自动设备，可以精确的递送生理盐水、葡萄糖或染料，通过热稀释或染料稀释测量心脏输出能力。注射器400用于递送少量体积的溶液，相关实验动物为小鼠到猫；注射器500适合于体形稍大的动物，可以从狗到马。
注射器400是一电动机械装置，通过电机驱动螺杆来推动注射器，允许注射的体积可以由安装注射器容积的10%到100%变化（10%步进）。这个设备使用气密注射器，容积大小从25ul到10ml，可注射体积为2.5ul-10ml。注射器400配备了一个双向阀，可以自动的填充注射器，准备下一个注射循环。

Thermodilution Injector 400/500
Injector 400 and Injector 500 are extremely precise automated instruments for accurate delivery of saline, glucose or dye for cardiac output measurement by thermodilution or dye dilution in animals. Injector 400 is designed to deliver smaller volumes associated with animals ranging from mice to cats. Injector 500 is appropriate for larger animals ranging from dogs to horses.
Injector 400 is an electro-mechanical device that actuates a syringe by a motor driven screw assembly allowing injection volumes from 10% to 100% (in 10% steps) of the installed syringe. The device employs gas tight syringes that are offered in sizes from 25 ul to 10mL, making available an injectate range of 2.5ul to 10mL. Injector 400 incorporates a 2-way valve assembly that automatically refills the syringe in preparation for the next inject cycle.
Injector 500 is a pneumatically operated device that employs an air cylinder connected to the syringe plunger. A source of compressed air or CO2 (30-45 psig) is used to operate the device. It can be controlled manually via a mechanical button or remotely by an electrical signal from an external source. A 2-way automatic valve placed between the injection syringe and catheter makes possible automatic operation with injection and automatic refill. Injector 500 employs a disposable syringe and the injection volume is fully adjustable in the range of 1 to 10 ml. (suitable for big dogs, horses and humans).
Both injectors can be remotely actuated from Columbus Instruments'' cardiac output computers via a single cable connection. Operation of the injector is initiated with depression of the computer''s ''Start Measure'' button, assuring proper timing between moment of injection and start of measurement procedure.
