在全世界范围内，呕吐毒素DON是最常见的一种污染粮食、饲料和食品的霉菌毒素之一，严重影响人和牲畜的健康。它不仅可以污染农作物，也可以污染粮食制品，对人和动物可以产生广泛的毒性效应。近年研究发现，脱氧雪腐镰刀菌烯醇对人和动物的免疫功能产生明显的影响。根据DON的剂量和暴露时间不同可引起免疫抑制或免疫刺激的作用。
自从2006年7月1日，EU规定下列食品中呕吐毒素最大含量：未加工的谷物1250-1750ppb；面粉750 ppb；焙烤制品500 ppb；烘焙原料（干）750 ppb；婴儿食品200 ppb。
自2010年6月FDA建议谷物产品中最大量是1000ppb，原料谷物最大量是10000 PPB。因此，对于食品和饲料中检测呕吐毒素是强制性的。

检测原理：
上海甄准生物提供的呕吐毒素检测试剂盒是酶联免疫检测方法。抗体结合蛋白包被在微孔板的表面。呕吐毒素含有样品或标准品和检测呕吐毒素抗体加到微孔板的孔中。样品和标准品中呕吐毒素通过与包被的结合蛋白反应连接到抗体上。在室温下培养30分钟后，过氧化物酶共轭抗体加入微孔板，在室温下培养15分钟后，，稀溶液洗涤将微孔板除去未结合的物质。加入底物溶液并培养15分钟，直到变蓝色。加入终止液抑制显色反应，颜色变为黄色。在450nm处检测黄色吸光度。呕吐毒素的浓度与测试样品的颜色强度直接成比例。
盒子包含试剂：
试剂盒使用96次。储存在2-8°C。
1、12条*8微孔板，包被抗鼠抗体。
2、呕吐毒素标准品(0, 2, 8, 20, 40, 80 ng/mL )：6 vials ，每瓶1.0 ml，红色，即用型。
3、抗呕吐毒素抗体(mouse)：6ml,红色，即用型。
4、Conjugate (Deoxynivalenol-Peroxidase):6mL,红色，即用型。
5、底物溶液(TMB)：15ml 预染红色 即用型。
6、终止液(0.5 M H2SO4): 15 mL，即用型。
7、样品稀释液(PBS): 2 x 60 mL，即用型。
8、洗涤液(PBS + Tween 20): 60 mL 10x浓缩液。稀释1+9蒸馏水。稀释液保存在4°C，至少可保存1周。如果冷藏结晶过程中沉淀，浓缩物应加热至37℃15分钟。
9、两张塑料薄膜覆盖在微孔板上。
10、塑料袋储存未使用微孔板。
11、操作手册。
