There are now available, important papers that put HDO® firmly in the
limelight as a new gold standard!
Benefits of VET HDO™
• HDO is the first and only validated non - invasive blood pressure device and, as such, it is the only
non-invasive reference technique that should be used in future validation studies1
• Minimal Training - Repeatable and reproducible readings can be obtained after just one hours training2
• Consistent time needed by all users to take five readings
• HDO High Correlation v Standard Oscillometric - HDO revealed a high correlation with telemetry than
the Cardell indicating that this non-invasive technique allows accurate and reliable blood pressure and
pulse rate in manually restrained monkeys and dogs4
• HDO allows easy reading of SAP, DAP and MAP
• In conclusion the VET HDO machine allowed assessment of SAP, DAP and MAP within a short period
in 100% attempts with correct to good repeatability even after minimal period of training (1 Hour)
Conversely differences among investigators were observed regarding speed variability and percentage
of successful DAP measurements in Doppler Ultrasonography measurements5
The Future
Already, research is underway to understand the Pulse Wave Analysis that is available to HDO =
Pre-Systolic Wave Amplitudes are significant and show Endothelial Dysfunction. This new research will
allow us to approach drug therapy and diagnosis in a new light and to highlight early onset of disease6
